Aurora Children’s Playhouse
Saturdays at 10 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.
Aurora Theatre brings the best children’s performers in the region to Gwinnett County, including puppeteers, magicians, storytellers, jugglers and musicians as a part of this series intended for youngsters to have their first theatrical experience. Families will witness world-class artistry in Aurora’s amazing facility in downtown Lawrenceville. At about 45 minutes in length, these lively performances are designed perfectly for the young attention span but are fun for the whole family. Lazy Louie’s Lucky Day

Lazy Louie fully lives up to his unfortunate nickname until he discovers the moving works from numerous authors, including Shel Silverstein, Jonathan London and Jack Prelutzsky. This program teaches kids the advantages of staying active and using one’s imagination through puppets, props and lots of participation, keeping them stretching, swimming, jumping, riding, running...and scoring big!

Recycled thrift store items find new life in this fantastic, frenetic retelling of the beloved classic. In addition to found-object puppets, this original one-man “tour de farce” combines authentic Italian music, Commedia-style mask work and plenty of audience participation! This show is produced with a grant from the Jim Henson Foundation, Inc.

Audiences will follow the territory battle between Abby and Marilyn, roommates at a senior living facility with clashing personalities, and the hilarity that ensues when the tumultuous pair pushes the envelope to win a seemingly harmless wager. Despite Abby’s resolve to push Marilyn into relocating, her warm-hearted companion decides not only to stay, but to uproot Abby’s stronghold on the spot by the window. In an effort to settle the score, the two women engage in an innocent bet, which quickly escalates into an outrageous contest of one-upmanship.
